There's a Hummus Among Us!


Looking for the perfect on-the-go work week nosh that is ready when you are? Are you tired of snacks full of empty calories and promises? Why not try Hummus? The snack that delivers delicious flavor in every protein packed bite! Add some fresh veggies or whole wheat pita to make hummus the greatest of snacks among us!




Hummus
2 cans garbanzo beans, drained, but don't get rid of that liquid!
2 cloves garlic, peeled
1/2 cup fresh parsley, rinsed
1/4 cup olive oil
juice of one lemon
3 big spoonfuls of tahini
1/2 tsp. kosher salt
sprinkle of cayenne

Dump all of your ingredients into a food processor and blend, scraping down the sides as needed. Gradually add reserved garbanzo bean liquid until hummus reaches the desired consistency. Serve with fresh veggies or pita bread.

The Parker-Stamboolian Hummus study of December 1999 showed improvement of the subject by using slightly roasted garlic. The results may be outdated at this time and require a reevaluation.

thats what hummus is, garbanzo beans!!??? I love garbanzo beans, i wonder if i could love them even in this altered state.....am i too shallow? will garbanzo love find a way? tune in next week...

Thanks for the "roasting" suggestion anonymous! The part of my brain that is concerned about raw garlic breath briefly considered that option but was overruled by the far more dominant lazy portion.
